Workers hurt in scaffold fall

A workman fell around ten feet from scaffolding that collapsed at the new Cameron Toll Travelodge hotel in Craigmillar Park, injuring himself and a colleague.

Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said the man and scaffolding fell on top of another workman on ground level just after 9am on Saturday.

The man who fell from the lower scaffolding suffered hip and shoulder injuries, while the other worker has a suspected broken hip. Both were transported to the Royal Infirmary.
