The veterans’ charity Erskine is appealing for more volunteers to help enrich the lives of ex-Service men and women at its Edinburgh care home.

Staff from the organisation will be recruiting more helpers of all ages at a dedicated Volunteer Recruitment Fair held at the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, on October 1st.

Those interested in sparing a few hours a week can find out more about the veterans’ charity which has recently welcomed its first resident to its newly expanded Erskine Edinburgh Home, in Gilmerton. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and take a look at the care offered to ex-Service men and women in Scotland’s capital.

Debbie McCorvey, Volunteer Co-ordinator at Erskine Edinburgh Home, said: “We hope that many more volunteers of all ages will come forward to spare a few hours a week to help bring something extra to the lives of our residents. With our home now expanded with a further 38 veterans we will rely even more on the time that volunteers can offer. Please come along to the Volunteers Recruitment Fair and support the Erskine Edinburgh Home.”

The Volunteer Recruitment Fair runs from 11am until 7pm at the Assembly Rooms.
