The public counter at St Leonard's Police Station, Edinburgh, is being refurbished and the counter will be closed from for four weeks from Tuesday (September 29).

A temporary counter has been created at the front of the building on St Leonard's Street to accommodate any visitors to the station.

As facilities at the temporary counter are limited, however, callers who would prefer to have a private meeting or confidential discussion are advised to go to another station.

Gayfield Square Police Station is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

It is hoped the refurbishment work will be completed by October 27th 2009.

Lothian and Borders Police apologise for the inconvenience caused.
