Parents' anger as boy, 5, left alone in city during club outing

An investigation has been launched after a five-year-old boy on a holiday club outing was left behind in the city centre.

The child, who had been with 14 others on a day trip organised by Liberton After School Club, was spotted by a passer-by after he failed to get on a bus with the rest of the group in the Cockburn Street area.

Parents say that it was only after the bus had travelled several stops, to Cameron Toll, that one of the three adults in charge noticed the child was missing. Two staff members rushed back in a taxi to find him. By that time the child had been taken to a police station.
