March at Moredun

As ever, March is a busy month in Moredun Library.  We’ve launched SPL Reading Stars and held more graffiti workshop sessions, hosted a demonstration of the new Nintendo DSI XL and a Crime in the City author visit, and there is more still to come!

On Monday the 15th we had a visit from Glasgow-based crime writer Helen Fitzgerald, whose work has been described as “the thinking woman’s noir.”.  She talked about her experience working with sex offenders at Barlinnie Prison and read from some of her books as well as telling us about ideas for upcoming projects.

Not wanting younger service users to feel left out, yesterday (March 18th) we held a glow stick photography event in association with Tales of the City.  This consisted of turning out the lights and letting kids run around in the dark with torches and glow sticks.  They took digital photos on a long exposure to make light patterns, with some very creative results!
