Lorry causes traffic chaos under bridge

A lorry has caused traffic chaos by getting stuck underneath a railway bridge in Edinburgh.

The driver realised the gap was too small and stopped just before going under the bridge at Cameron Toll roundabout.

But they were unable to drive forwards or backwards and Lothian and Borders Police received a call at 9.45am on Wednesday.

Officers attended the scene and directed traffic round and away from the vehicle as it tried to manoeuvre out of the tight spot.

Staff from Network Rail and the British Transport Police were notified of the incident by Lothian and Borders Police.

Motorists were warned of delays and asked to stay away from the area until the lorry is moved.
