Lollipop man hit by car outside George Watson's College

A school crossing patrol man is being treated for minor injuries in hospital after being hit by a car in Edinburgh.

The incident happened 0815 BST on a crossing outside George Watson's College on Colinton Road.

The lollipop man, in his 50s and said to be experienced in the role, received minor injuries when his head struck the Vauxhall Astra's windscreen.

Lothian and Borders Police said the motorist stopped and is helping with their inquiries.
