The funeral of a mother-of-three who was knocked down and killed in a supermarket car park will take place on Thursday.

Jackie Monteith died when she was run over by her sister-in-law, who was trying to reverse into a parking bay in the car park of Sainsbury's in Loanhead, Midlothian, on Tuesday 30 June.

Her family described her death as a "heartbreaking accident" and said she would be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She was described as the "life and soul" of any gathering and was known as a tireless fundraiser for charity.

She had helped stage a number of events to benefit good causes over the years.

A funeral service will be held at Mortonhall Crematorium on Thursday, 9 July at 10am.

Police are treating the popular Gilmerton pub manager's death as a tragic accident.

The 41-year-old was carrying her three-year-old granddaughter at the time of the incident.
