Families month at Moredun Library

March was Families Month at Moredun Library.

On Monday 7th we ran a family open afternoon to promote our new Parent Info Café which runs on the first Monday of every month.  This event was a great success with over 350 in attendance.

There were a variety of information kiosks, freebies and activities. Mrs. Mash provided stories and recipes for the younger attendees, health awareness groups gave information on dental hygiene and smoking prevention, a prize draw was enjoyed by all as well as coffee, cake and the chance to sit down and have a natter.

There’s been lots more going on throughout the month, with storytelling for the under fives, quiz nights for the teenagers, sports evenings, competitions and much more.

Our SPACE (Supporting Parents and Carers in Edinburgh) knowledge base is not only an online portal for web resources; we have an entire area dedicated to books on child care, helpful contacts and information on local events and places of interest, so whether you are a first time parent or the mother of three, if you are looking for a book on potty-training or a guide to teenage years Moredun has plenty of information to offer you both in print and online.

The Parent Info Café is the first Monday of the month from 2:00 until 4:00pm and children’s events run every week.
