Work has begun on an £81,000 project to alleviate the flooding "misery" of two Edinburgh families in Fairmilehead.

Homeowners in Frogston Road West will benefit from a new connection from the existing surface water system to a new storm tank, which has already been built in a nearby housing development.

Gary Laing, a project manager for Scottish Water, said: "Scottish Water sympathises with the families involved and that's why we will make every effort to address the issue."
