A Council blunder led to householders in south Edinburgh being advised to put their recycling out on the wrong days.
Recycling calendars advising of the dates of kerbside collections for red and blue bins were distributed with the red and blue collection dates reversed.
New corrected calendars are being issued to all affected households and will be delivered by their next collection on Wednesday.
Councillor Robert Aldridge, the city's environment leader, said: "I'm delighted that Edinburgh residents have got the recycling bug and that we remain on course to reach and hopefully exceed our 30 per cent recycling target for 2008-9. We want people to see waste as preventable and to work with us towards a zero-waste city."
