The City of Edinburgh Council is currently consulting on its Main Issues Report, the important first stage in the preparation of the new Edinburgh Local Development Plan. The new plan will contain policies and proposals to guide development and land use across Edinburgh and will replace the current two local plans.

To increase awareness of and share information on the main issues relating to South East Edinburgh, we are holding a consultation event on Tuesday 17 January between 5pm and 8pm in the Faith Mission Auditorium, 548 Gilmerton Road, EH17 7JD.

The event will include;
  • A short presentation about the Main Issues Report at 5pm (repeated at 6pm)

  • Information tables staffed by Planning Officers - opportunity to look at documents and background information and ask questions

  • Comment board - invitation to post your views and suggestions

  • Group discussions on the South East housing sites at 7pm - 8pm (To give us an idea of numbers for the group discussions, we would be grateful if you could RSVP by 9 January).
This drop in event is open to everyone and will provide the opportunity for discussion and questions on any aspect of the Main Issues Report, including the suggested site options for 1,000 houses in South East Edinburgh.

We look forward to meeting you on 17th January - everyone welcome! Any questions about the event or if you wish to RSVP, please contact 0131 529 3794 or emma.rigg@edinburgh.gov.uk

You can also view the Main Issues Report online at www.edinburgh.gov.uk/localdevelopmentplan or in libraries.
