January's South Edinburgh Community Lunch is due to take place this Friday (the 30th) at 12pm at Gilmerton New Church (The Hub), Ravenscroft Street, Gilmerton.

The event will be the setting not only for a feast of haggis, neeps and tatties to celebrate Burns Night, but for the launch of the Liberton/Gilmerton community plan. Anyone is welcome to attend the event, with a £1 charge for the food on offer and where the six priorities of the plan will be made public.

People are invited to become involved in the ‘delivery’ of the priorities, through speaking to those behind the plan on the day, raising issues themselves and signing up to become part of working groups. Convenor of the Liberton Gilmerton Neighbourhood Partnership council, councillor Ian Murray, will unveil the plans at 1pm.
