Liberton and District Community Council

Who are we?

The Liberton Community Council is a group of individuals who have been elected or, in some cases, selected to represent you and your views. The Council is non-political and unpaid but is willing to act in the interest of the community.

What are our boundaries?

The boundaries of the Liberton Community Council are roughly the same as Liberton Parish, including Alnwickhill, Howdenhall, Mortonhall and Gracemount.

A map can be found here.

What can we do?

We are watchdogs for you and for the area. Our task is to ensure that the amenities and facilities are maintained and improved for the benefit of the community. A Community Council can also act as a campaigning body in raising awareness of specific local issues. The work of a Community Council ensures that it has good access to the City of Edinburgh Council and to our MSPs.

More information on the role of the Community Council can be found here.

Where and when do we meet?

We meet either in Liberton Kirk Halls or in the Gracemount Youth and Community Centre. The time, place and agendas are available at Liberton Gardens Post Office.

All meetings are open to the public.
