Training programme for unemployed women in South Edinburgh

Women Onto Work are running a free training programme this Autumn for unemployed women in South Edinburgh who want to move on to paid employment, training or further study. The programme begins with a 36 day training course and will give women the chance to think about their skills, plan for the future, build their confidence, gain a first aid certificate and try out their ideal job in a 9 day work placement.

The course is for women who over 21 and have been out of paid work in the UK for more than 6 months.

We also arrange and fund registered childcare for trainees on the course, including a crèche, after school clubs and nursery pick ups. Trainees also receive a weekly training allowance and end of course bonus. You do not need to be claiming benefits to participate but if you are, the allowances will not affect your benefits.

To get an information pack or find out more, call us on 0131 475 2662.

Information and recruitment event for the course is on Tuesday 1st September, starting at 9.30am at the Burdiehouse Community Centre, 25 Burdiehouse Street, EH17 8EZ. There is a crèche available for the day - please phone WOW to book a place.

Informal interviews will be held after an initial information session.
