Aspiring musicians of Liberton High School put on an end-of-year show to end all shows and raised over £130 for young people in difficulty.

MinorityThe band Minority and solo vocalist Jack Robertson both starred at the school's talent show towards the end of last year and The Echo organised with the school to put on another show, during lunchtime on a school day in December, with the proceeds going to Streetwork UK.

Streetwork is an organisation aimed at helping young people at risk, and staff there were delighted to accept the cheque from the boys.

David Aitchison, Youth/Adult Worker at Streetwork, said, "I'd like to say thanks to the boys, Liberton High School and The Echo for this.  It's a small gesture but it means so much to people out there.  I was really impressed with the boys, and it's great to see young people putting something back into the community.  I saw them performing recently at the school carol concert and I was blown away by their attitude and level of performance."

Liberton Head Teacher, Donald Macdonald, said, "They are a talented, hard-working bunch of lads and I feel it's the school's responsibility to support them in developing their talent.  It's something we'd like to do more, linking with the community and helping good causes."
