The event takes place on Sunday 20 January between 11am and 2pm and will give members of the local community the opportunity to learn more about the green oasis that borders the Inch.
The City of Edinburgh Countryside Ranger Service has noticed increased use of the park, and some community members have expressed an interest in getting involved with some of the conservation tasks that need to be done regularly within the park.
As a result, there has been interest in starting a new Friends group that could organise events or conservation days within the park in cooperation with the City of Edinburgh Countryside Ranger Service.
Stacy Schumacher, Countryside Ranger at Craigmillar Castle Park, says all help is appreciated. "This is a fantastic opportunity to get out into the fresh air and learn more about Craigmillar Castle Park," she said.
"Anyone with an interest, whatever their ability, can get involved in a whole range of tasks such as planting new trees or removing shelters from trees that were planted 10 years ago.
"Just come along with sturdy shoes and warm clothes and the Countryside Ranger Service will provide everything else."
