Fernieside Football Club's Soccer 4s initiative, which began in early March, continues to put a smile on the faces of young footballers, parents and coaches.

Soccer7s

The Fernieside youngsters, aged between seven and eight years old, train under the watchful eye of coach Lisa Lennox and compete in four-a-side games against Bonnyrigg, Easthouses and Beechwood on Saturday mornings at Gilmerton Park.

The small-sided games form part of the Fernieside youngsters' development which takes them from the Kids School, to Soccer 4s, Soccer 7s, and finally the 11-a-side game.

The results are unimportant in the games but youngsters and their parents display a competitive edge in keenly-contested games every weekend.

Boys and girls who are interested in joining the club at any age group should contact  club leader Stewart Laird on 0131 664 8988.
