The Ladies Bowling Club of Gilmerton Miners Welfare raised over £1000 through a series of events for Children 1st recently.
By staging a bowling competition, raffles and a tombola, the ladies generated £1083 and presented a cheque to Sandy Corlett of the organisation.
She said, "We're grateful for the support – it's important for the help we can give local children. "Children 1st works to give children in Scotland a safe and secure childhood, supporting children with difficulties in school. Our team of trained staff help them to express their feelings and learn social skills."
