NUstART - Learn to paint From 16 January 2008 Wednesdays 9.30 – 12 noon in Gilmerton Community Centre
These free workshops are open to anyone who has ever wondered if they could paint and draw, and they will run throughout the coming 6 weeks So all you people who think you CAN’T paint and draw, call David on 0777 1938 777, or Email da.graham@napier.ac.uk NUstART enables people to work in painting and drawing at their own pace, and attendance is flexible to suit people’s commitments, health and abilities. Past workshops in Craigmillar and Sighthill have attracted about 80 aspiring artists, who between them sold more than 50 paintings with a total value of £4,000. When the NUstART programme recently won The Times 2007 Higher Education Supplement Award for widening student participation, David Eastwood, chief executive of the Higher Education Funding Council for England, which sponsored the awards, described NUstART as a scheme that helps people build their self-esteem and discover their creativity through painting and drawing.
