Inspector Steven Paul, who has been based at Howdenhall for some years now, has moved to pastures new. Taking the reigns is Glenn Milne, the new Sector Inspector for the Howdenhall area.
Inspector Milne joined Lothian & Borders Police in 1979 and has spent his service in a variety of roles, including plain clothes, licensing, traffic enforcement, CID enquiry teams and Control Room duties, as well as community beat duties in Morningside and Gorgie. In 1999 he was promoted to Sergeant and was posted to Kelso and Hawick for 5 years before returning to Police Headquarters as force Architectural and CCTV Liaison Officer.
Glenn has also spent time working in the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit in Glasgow, focusing on weapon-related violence and youth-alcohol issues. Earlier this year, Glenn returned as team Inspector, based at Corstorphine Police Station before his move to Howdenhall.
Glenn is the only Police Officer in the UK who holds an HNC qualification in CCTV, but is equally proud of his SFA coaching licenses, and maintains a keen interest in football.
