Inch Colts' under-19 side swept to a cup double last month by winning both the Bob Bankier Cup and the League Cup.

A 3-1 win at Rosewell against Edina Hibs was followed by a 3-0 success over Tranent Juniors on the East Lothian side's home ground.

Firstly, after dispatching the challenge of league champions Bonnyrigg Rose by an emphatic 5-1 scoreline in the semi final of the Bob Bankier Cup, Inch travelled to Ferguson Park and contested a tight cup final full of fast-paced football. Goals from Sean Jamieson and Steven Robertson (2) put paid to Edina's hopes of silverware.

Inch, though, fell behind early on as Craig Millar turned well inside the box and fired a powerful shot past goalkeeper Daryl Johnston.

Just after the half-hour mark, Inch equalised as Robertson ghosted in to the box to latch onto a long ball and nudged the ball into the net.

Less than a minute later, Inch raced into the lead. Some quick passing in the middle of the park preceded a fantastic through ball from Dale Richardson that split the Edina defence and released Sean Jamieson.  The shouts for offside were ignored and Jamieson calmly slotted the ball in to make it 2-1.

Edina chased the game early in the second half, but, after a couple of missed chances, their offensive tactics allowed Inch to add to their advantage.

Winger Yusif Bernawi (pictured, above) cut in from the right wing and fired a shot at goal that 'keeper Conner Wood could only parry, and Robertson was on hand to tap the ball into the net and ensure the win.

In their final game of the season, Inch travelled to Forester Park in Tranent to take on the local under-19 side in the climax of the League Cup competition.

After dominating the ten minutes, Craig Clancy gave Inch the lead, and Sean Jamieson added a second goal soon after. Steven Robertson was denied by two impressive saves by the on-form Tranent goalkeeper prior to half-time, but into the second half Inch made sure of the win when Robertson's mishit shot was fumbled by the number one and sealed a 3-0 victory.

Colts coach Jim Gallacher was delighted to have seen out the season by securing some silverware.  He said, "We have done extremely well to just get to the cup finals, but to win them is brilliant.

"Overall this season, we've done really well. Up until the last league game of the season, we were still in with a shout of winning the league.

"As far as Inch Colts' season is concerned, it's been a great success. Our under-16 team also reached two cup finals and finished second in the league. Throughout the whole club, we've progressed this year."

• Inch Colts are currently on the lookout for players for next season's under-21 team (must be born no later than 1988) and coaches to lead teams in other age groups.
